I was humbled to be a winner of the 2021 Westfield Local Heroes campaign where I was presented with the award at a special ceremony on Thursday October 21.
I was initially put forward by Ruth Lindsay at the Children’s Tumour Foundation and became a finalist back in June and it went from there to a public vote and I was one of 3 winners for Westfield Booragoon. I can’t believe that so many people voted for me, it was incredible!
So, it means that the Children’s Tumour Foundation receives $10,000 to spend towards a book project that showcases real life stories of kids, teens and young adults living with Neurofibromatosis. I’ll help inspire the kids to write their stories and bring the project together along with Ruth Lindsay.
